MEET THE DIRECTOR
JUDY MAUCK, R.N.

Judy Hicks Mauck, R.N., is the executive director of the Rockbridge Area Hospice. She represents Hospice in the Rockbridge area to many groups and organizations including but not limited to churches and civic organizations, the medical community, patients and their families.

Along with the above responsibilities, Judy Mauck is senior manager for the local Hospice in charge of patient care, staff development and certification, financial management, facilities and strategic planning.

Judy Mauck was selected after a national search.  She was formerly a medical marketing specialist.  She is a graduate of Blue Ridge Community College and in her current academics is pursuing a bachelor of science in nursing progressing to a master of science in nursing degree through Old Dominion University in Norfolk.

"Judy brings to the job a mix of qualities and experience that make her an ideal leader fo the Rockbridge Area Hospice:  substantial experience in the delivery of clinical services, exceptional development skill and a commitment to the mission of hospice," said Robert T. Danforth, former hospice board president, who led the year-long recruitment process.

Hospice has grown rapidly in recent years and now serves an average of twenty-five patients and their families daily.  Hospice has a staff includes ten Registered Nurses, nine other nursing staff members,  four licensed social workers, as well as a volunteer corps of almost one hundred.

Mauck, is a native of Hillsboro, NC., and has lived in the Rockbridge Augusta Area for twenty-five years.  She is the mother of two grown children who spends her spare time studying, running, playing softball and singing in her church choir.
